Ross Valley Players kicks off its 96th season with a fresh interpretation of Tartuffe<\/em><\/strong> at the Barn Theatre in Ross. Under Adrian Elfenbaum\u2019s direction, Moli\u00e8re\u2019s 17th-century satire of hypocrisy lands in late-1960s Southern California\u2014an era awash in paisleys, flower power, and cultural upheaval. Richard Wilbur\u2019s sparkling verse translation finds fresh energy in this groovy setting, where mod fashion and psychedelic flair sharpen both the comedy and the bite.<\/span><\/p>\n
